The Nillumbik Specialist Centre is the home of Nillumbik Paediatrics.
Consultations can be made with a Paediatrician by sending a referral to:
- Referrals from a GP are valid for 12 months.
- Referrals from another Specialist are valid for 3 months.
Your Paediatrician – Dr. Graham Barrington
Dr Graham Barrington completed his primary medical degree at the University of Melbourne and his specialist advanced training in paediatrics at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, and at the Northern hospital, Sunshine hospital and Austin hospital. He trained in behavioural and neurodevelopmental paediatrics at the Centre for Community Child Health at RCH and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in general paediatrics in 2022. He worked as a paediatric emergency physician in 2022 and 2023 at the Austin hospital and has worked as a staff specialist general paediatrician at the Central Gippsland Health Service from 2024 as well as operating a private paediatric practice at the Nillumbik Specialist Centre in Eltham. Dr Barrington has published research in Autism and written narrative and is a member of INSAR (the International Society for Autism Research) and the Australasian Society for Behavioural Paediatrics.
Dr Barrington held senior management positions in health and community sectors after completing an MBA from the Melbourne Business School (2000) and a Master of Public Health from UNSW (1999). His executive roles have included Deputy Medical Director of the Mercy hospital, Director of Medical Services at Box Hill hospital, Director of Medical Services at Werribee Mercy hospital, chairperson of a large community legal service and chairperson of a national private commercial business in the school sector. He has completed a Master of Applied Science (Cognitive Science) from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Melbourne leading to a publication in the area of Artificial Intelligence and intelligent agents and a Master of Data Science (2022) from the Science Faculty of the University of Melbourne specialising in Machine Learning and computational genomics.
Dr Barrington maintains an interest in general paediatrics, child development and the intersection of technology and medicine.
